If you want priority scheduling and one dedicated senior instructor, VIP costs ₦395,000 automatic or ₦470,000 manual for one month at 1 hour a day, with flexible timing and your certificate and learner’s permit included.
Captain SPATA, our signature programme, costs ₦900,000 for one month at 1 hour a day with a senior dedicated instructor. On top of the training you get a SPATA membership pack, 12 months of protection (including road-incident legal representation and a human-answered accident-scene hotline) and a private CARO SPATA WhatsApp line. See everything Captain SPATA includes.
VIP and Captain SPATA cost the same in Abuja and Asaba.
How long does driving school take?
At CARO it depends on where you are starting from:
- New drivers follow the Beginner track of 4 to 8 weeks. The full 8-week programme has 3 sessions a week, at least 30 hours behind the wheel, weekly assessments and a final mock test.
- Returning drivers who already know the basics can book a 2- or 3-week Refresher.
- Need more time? You can keep training beyond week 8: just ask and we’ll continue your plan.
Your licence takes extra time after your training, because you still need to apply on the FRSC portal, take your driving test and do your biometric capture. Our guide to choosing a driving school explains each licence step.
Automatic or manual: how much more is manual?
In Abuja, a manual plan costs ₦25,000 to ₦95,000 more than the same automatic plan. Manual lessons cover more: clutch control, finding the biting point and changing gears, on top of everything in an automatic course.
Choose automatic if you will only drive automatic cars. Choose manual if you want to be able to drive any car, since a confident manual driver can switch to an automatic easily.
Which driving school is cheaper?
The cheapest quote is not always the best value. Before you compare prices between schools, make sure you are comparing like with like:
- Is the school FRSC-accredited?
- How many weeks do you get, and how long is each lesson?
- Are the cars dual-control?
- Is there a written curriculum, with assessments and a final mock test?
- Which extras, such as the learner’s permit, certificate and licence, are included, and which cost more?
A lower price for fewer or shorter lessons can cost you more in the end if you need extra lessons before you feel ready to drive alone. At CARO, the lowest-cost way to learn in Abuja is Plan B at 40 minutes a day, from ₦120,000 automatic. If you live in Delta State, our Asaba branch has its own rate card, with plans from ₦105,000 automatic and ₦130,000 manual.
How to save on driving lessons at CARO
- Choose Plan B. At 40 minutes a day, it costs ₦45,000 to ₦165,000 less than Plan A for the same number of weeks.
- Pick the right track. If you already drive, a 2- or 3-week Refresher costs far less than a full beginner course.
- Book a longer plan. Longer plans cost less per week: 8 weeks of automatic Plan B works out at about ₦43,750 a week, against ₦60,000 a week for 2 weeks.
How to pay and book
